Nuts for Main Spar Bolts

The problem: The AN-10 main spar bolts sit so close to the G200 fuselage walls that it's impossible to get a socket on the nuts. This means a lot of tedious tightening using an open-ended wrench. (I'm not sure if the 202 has the same problem.) The solution: NAS1291-10 self-locking nuts. These mil-spec parts have a smaller head and a built-in washer. While expensive at about $20 each, they are well worth the money in my humble opinion.

G-200 fleet total flight hours

Vittorio Primultini's picture

Forums:

Hello, I'm Vittorio Primultini from Italy. I am owner and builder of G-200 kit N.11. The italian authorities are asking me how many flight hours all G-200s have accumulated all togather. The reason of this is because in Italy there was another G-200 call sign I-PULL that had a structural problem. The plane landed safely but the owners did not want to have it fixed, nobody knows why... The reason of the faillure was dew to a damage done to the wing during shipment. It was not properly fixed and broke again. So no structural problems for the plane, but I need to convence the authorities... So the authorities are asking me the total flight hours in order to justfy that among all the hours there was only one serius faillure. That way I will be able to finish the plane without too much trouble. Thanks all for your help/answers. Vittorio

G202 Landing Gear Modification

Forums:

Does anyone have any info on the G202 landing gear modification? Was it incorporated into the later factory kits, and at what serial number would they have started incorporating it? Also, what does the mod itself consist of? Any info would be helpful as I am not sure if my plane has this mod and dont know what to look for to determine if it does. Thanks!
