when my old engine became tired, I had a company build me a new engine. Unfortunately it did not survive. We had recurrent shearing of the bolts holding the crankcase together as well as the cylinder heads onto the crankcase. This engine design was not particularly stressed. They were 10:1 Pistons and the engine data, showed maximum output of 230 hp at 2900 rpm. The engine was never run past 2700 rpm, typical regimen was 2600 for comps, 2550 fro training. it always ran hot, max 200C on cyl 2. So it was replaced with another engine, the case had been shaved and we used standard pistons. so the estimate is a 9 to 1 piston ratio. Pistons have been coated with ceramic, all of the oil injection systems are standard. It was measured on the dyno as producing 185 hp at sea level, on a day of 33°C temperature, and 1000 Mbatmospheric pressure 2700 rpm. It has a maximum RPM 2700 and I have limited the RPM used to 2550.
I have no problem getting around an unlimited sequence. The engine runs cool, and I am much more relaxed. there has been no evidence of anything amis on this motor
