Does anyone have a weight & balance calculator for the Giles 202? Maybe something in an Excel or Numbers spreadsheet with the graph showing the in/out cg limits?
I am intrested in fitting an air filter to my Giles 202 (VH-YGX previously N43BJ fitted with IO360). The distance between the intake and front of the cowl is limited and I am wondering if anyone has a solution / design that works.
What are guys using for max snap speed in the G-200?
Was there ever a published speed or was it up to the homebuilder to determine?
I've been using 130mph as my max snap speed. I find myself wishing for a slightly higher speed sometimes. I've had alot of figures in advanced recently that start in level flight with a push to vertical down and a snap on the downline. Even at low throttle the speed gets up to 130mph pretty quick, so I feel I'm rushing the snap.
I'm (still) looking for Giles community help on how I might comply with the ADS-B out requirementin my G200. I'm competing in the Advanced category, so I'm interested in a light-weight solution. I currently have a 2 1/4" panel-mounted compact Becker ATC-4401-1-250 transponder. But with only modes A/C, it won't fit the bill for ADS-B out, so (I believe) it'll need replacing as part of the solution. And to be eligible for the FAA rebate, the solution needs to be a TSO'd set up, although I'm guessing that'll be a financial tradeoff; i.e.
G'day everyone, SRG here, I fly compete VH-YLF the original Giles 202 prototype.
I am Looking to accumulate as many of the test flights possible in a database. Obviously this will include a great deal of data, and I'm happy to put this into a spreadsheet.
If anybody has their original test flight data would be most grateful for a copy. My email is in the member database.
I have a new (to me!) G-200 that I am planning on taking out today for a spin familiarization. Anything in particular I should be aware of in terms of how the plane acts in spin environments? I am planning on going through the Beggs curriculum, which includes upright - normal, flat, & accelerated (nose-down elevator, in-spin aileron, out-spin aileron, and adding power).
Removed the old reliable VM1000 ECM and installed the MGL Discovery Lite I-EFIS. Love the functionality and capabilities of the new system however Im chasing a ghost or a real problem. Done with all the usual mechanical troubleshooting.. I.e. compresion, boroscope, FF, Bafling, EGT, swaped probes, etc...using the k type probes and unit is set for them. I never noticed any of cylinder so hot w the VM 1000 above 400!!! .. Now w the MGL im seing #2 rising to 460 @acro power and 430 during cruise! I got Two questions and help request......anyone w an MGL system that have experience same?
